2009 Grabber orange Roush RTC s/c

Picture
I walked past this car as it was slowly making its way through the line to enter the show.  I know for sure there is knock off of this car running around the northern Tennessee area. After seeing the license plate on the back I dismissed it as such.  Fortunately for me, the line to enter the show had stopped but those of us on foot kept moving.  I suddenly noticed that my kids were lagging behind me and I turned around to gather them up and that's when I seen the front of the car.  I switched from parent to stalker mode, and walked straight up to the driver and asked if it was an '09, he replied YES.  I told him I would find him later on, after he gets registered and parked.
*Here's a picture of the knock off car I was referring to running the Tail of the Dragon.

The RTC model is easily recognizable by the two tone paint job which is one of 6 factory colors topped with a coat of black on the hood and roof that stops at the spoiler on the rear.  Special forged aluminum 20 inch wheels, instead of the 5 spoke cast 18 inchers were used on this model only along with distinct RTC badging on the fenders and deck lid.
COLOR BREAKDOWN:
Torch Red= 13 (including one auto trans)
Vista Blue= 6 (one non supercharged and SC auto)
Dark Candy Apple Red= 9 (one non supercharged)
Grabber Orange= 7 (one auto trans)
Vapor Silver= 11 (4 non supercharged)
Brilliant Silver= 13 (one non supercharged)
Total= 59
Alloy, Performance White, Black and Highland Green were not offered on the RTC model

The interior is outfitted with carbon fiber accents, signature white faced Roush gauges and Roush short throw shifter with ball.

The Roush leather clad seats in the RTC are different than in other Roush models.  These seats are similar to the P-51 seats' suede inserts, except instead of stopping just above the lumbar, they run the full length of the seat.  Grabber Orange piping accents every stitch throughout the entire leather clad interior.

Roush door sill plates and aluminum foot pedals finish out the lower half the of this stunning interior.  As you may have noticed, those are not the Roush floor mats underneath those pedals, that's because Ed keeps them in the trunk still wrapped in the factory plastic!
*Also note in the 3rd picture that factory plastic seat covers are tucked under the seat.  I assume that was intentional and not the result of a lackluster dealer prep job done in haste.

Under the hood is the hood lies the serialized Roush plate reading #20 of 200 units which is FALSE!  A quick call to Roush headquarters in Livonia confirmed that although 200 were planned, only 60 cars were actually produced.  If you were paying attention during the color breakdown above, the numbers only equate to 59 cars?  That's because one is a model year 2008 prototype sprayed in Dark Candy Apple Red (the whereabouts of the prototype are unknown at the time of this writing).  Seven of the 60 RTC's are naturally aspirated like the Roush Sport, Stage 1 and Stage 2 models, the other 53 cars are called RTC S/C.  I forgot to ask while I was talking the rep at Roush, but I assume the SC stands Smoking Camaros or possibly Super Charged, though I'm not sure which?
RTC stand for Roush Touring Coupe and therefore, not available as a convertible.  Although it sports the same Roushcharged 435 horse set up under the hood, this is a touring car.  It rides on the factory GT suspension with the exception of progressive rate lowering springs.  This makes for a more compliant ride unlike the other Roush track tuned, tooth chipping variants like Stage1-3, Blackjack, and P-51B.
Due to the economic meltdown in full swing during the time, the RTC was not carried over to the 2010 model.  Total Roush production of all variants was only 448 cars in 2009.  A little more than 26% of the 1706 volume sold from 2008 and less than half of the 965 units produced in 2010.

The M90 super charger is powder coated in chrome at the Roush factory.  Ed has added an open air intake filter, strut tower bolt caps and a chrome fuse box cover.  Other than that, the car is completely stock save for the 45th Anniversary emblem attached to the front grill.
The original 45th Anniversary fender emblems where replaced with the Roush ones and found later in an envelope after taking delivery of the car.  The car currently has just over 7,000 miles on it and has never been in the rain.
