In the fall of 2016 Thomas began looking for a weekend toy to cruise around in. He originally was looking at a 2005 GT to become his first Mustang. Then his buddy Brian Abston from Homer Skelton Ford in Millington said he found him a better deal. The better deal happened to be this Vista Blue 2009 which Brian drove out to him for him to check out while he was at work...talk about service! That's when the search ended and Thomas took the car home shortly after.
He has dubbed the car "Sally" in likes of the song Mustang Sally from Wilson Pickett. |
Under the hood lies a Ford Racing cold air intake, strut tower brace, manifold cover and also other various chrome goodies. All this eye candy was installed and very well cared for by the previous owner. A Roush front fascia and hood scoop create an aggressive look in the front, leaving no doubt the previous owner has awesome taste. Overall, Sally is in excellent shape and very clean despite showing 112,000 miles in the gauge cluster.
The original owner wasn't shy when it came to extras either, opting for both interior/exterior appearance packages, and MY Color interior lighting. The only options this car is lacking would be the navigation and Glass Roof options...and maybe a 5.4L Shelby badged drive train if you want to be a dick about it! Either way, it's a very nicely optioned car with a highly sought after interior/exterior color scheme.
Thomas has so far installed lowering springs in the short amount time that he's had Sally. His next order of business is to finish dressing out the engine bay and doing some exhaust work along with having the car re-sprayed in Vista Blue.
Even though Thomas has owned the car less than a year, he's already snagged an award at the Munford Celebrate Car Show a few weeks ago! It was his first car show, and Sally took bronze, bested only by a '99 Cobra and '12 Cobra, both convertibles in an all make show.
On his way out the door with his 3rd place overall trophy, "the best motor" award was announced. Thomas had to turn around to pick up a First place trophy, clenching 2 trophies total in his first all make show. Fortunately his wife was there to lend a hand...to help carry trophies!
