Ed purchased this super clean GT in October of 2010 with 5600 miles on clock. Somehow he has managed to keep his pony mostly the stock in the last six years. This 2009 came equipped with the Interior appearance package which includes: Shelby GT 500 pedal covers Brushed aluminum dash panel trim Stitched leather dash cover Brushed shifter trim ring Cnc milled shift knob Brushed aluminum door sill plates |
Ed began his search for a 2005-2009 model Mustang for a weekend toy. He says the moment he seen the glass top model, he fell in love and his search had officially ended. Of the 13,359 GT coupes produced in 2009, only 3072 came equipped with the factory glass roof option. The roof features a retractable sunscreen and special UV tint to prevent excess interior fading as well as protecting occupants from sunburn. |

Ed's 2009 Vapor Silver GT also came equipped with Factory hood scoop and the GT Appearance package which includes engine cover with pony emblem and bright rolled 3 inch exhaust tips.
Unlike most Mustang owners, Ed has resisted the urge to mod and the car is mostly stock. The Silver Horse Racing window louvers have been added along with rear mud flaps. With the exception of that, the car is in an unmolested state like is was back in 2009 on the show room floor. The only other planned mod is addition of black racing stripes to be added later on this year.
Ed says he takes his Mustang to car shows but doesn't enter. Other than a trip to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Mustang 50th Anniversary Bash, Ed's car doesn't see any track time. He simply states that he "Loves driving it".
The 2009 Mustang GT boasts a 24 valve SOHC 4.6L V-8 capable of 300 HP and 320 ft/lb of torque mated to a 5 speed Tremec gear box with 3:55 limited slip axle.
This simple recipe makes for a 1/4 mile time of 13.8 @103mph and 0-60 comes quick at 5.3 seconds, same as non glass top variants.

Ed has retained the originality of his GT quite well. His Mustang spends the winter in a heated garage protected from the harsh Pennsylvania winters. He currently has only 32,000 miles on the clock which seems fitting given the showroom fresh look of the car inside and out.
